Who We Are

The overall goal of education in America is to produce producticive citizens. Some schools include: Our sudents will learn how to contribute to the health of our democracy. We at History For Real believe, "A productive citizen is an informed citizen."

Unfortunately text books used in most American schools today contain little or no information about the valuable contributions of African Americans. We want people of all ages to learn and celebrate a more "complete history" of the United States.

What We Do

COMMUNITY

We connect with community groups and organizations through our History For Real presentations. These groups include churches, camps, museums, and libraries.

EDUCATION

We support the lessons and objectives teachers and youth leaders have written for their students. Our premier program is the story of the Tuskegee Airmen- the first African Americans to be trained as WWII military pilots. Their story is especially suitable for cross-curricular instruction. We encourage young people to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams.

to get students excited about United States history again.
